A “virtual visit” is easy for patients to use — at home, at work or on the go. They consult directly with a board-certified dermatologist without the need for an appointment, which gives them flexibility, time savings and often faster care.

Here’s how it works:
- Patients go to the virtual visit webpage or download the United Skin virtual visit app, where they create a patient profile, provide some medical history and upload photos of their condition.
- Participating providers review the photos and medical information to diagnose and provide a personalized treatment plan. Any necessary prescriptions are automatically sent to the patient’s preferred pharmacy.
- If medically necessary, the patient is referred for an in-office visit.
The online visit service also can be used by parents or guardians to conduct online dermatology visits for children or others in their care. The service is 100% HIPAA compliant and meets HITECH national online healthcare information standards for patient data security.
